Home Hospice

Friday, Nov. 30th We finally got the ok to have someone come to our house for Kylers school. We had to get a note signed from the doctor. I called and asked for him to sign the form and he didn't think there was any reason for him to.  I was so mad. It's not like I was asking for more pain meds. Hes at more risk to bump it or hurt it walking on crutches in the snow.  Plus he still had to have his leg locked straight, elevated and iced. He has to do his exercises 3x a day, which is exhausting for him. He cant walk around school all day and then still do all that and ice it and everything else. The doctor is nuts! It's just helping him and making sure he's healed completely.  Anyway, Tyson called back and basically told him we would get it taken care of one way or another so he could sign it or we would make sure it did some other way.  He finally signed it. I'm pretty upset with him still. I think he did great on the surgery and explaining what he did, but he has no...

Tuesday, Nov. 27th Today is his first appointment for physical therapy. They had him try and bemd his knee, which put him in tears.  He said mom I can't do this.  The therapist stopped and said I qant you to just work on that at home as long as its comfortable. He hooked a machine up to him that gave his leg a jolt feeling. It was to try and retrain his leg muscles to work. He had him practice 3 different exercises and told him to practice at home 3x a day. The physical therapist said he wanted Kylers goal this week to be strengthing his leg so that he could lift it on his own. He still has to keep his leg locked straight in the brace for 4 weeks, but can unlock it when he does the exercises to help it bend a little more. Kyler wanted to try sleeping in his bed and we told him it wouldn't work because he still needed help getting up out of the chair. He said he would figure out a way so he came up with this idea... Everytime he had to use the bathroom he wou...

Wednesday, Nov 7th, 2018 Kyler made 1st cuts on the highschool. Today they had tryouts out again for everyone that made 1st cuts. About a half hr before tryouts were over, I recieved a call from the athletic trainer saying I needed to come pick kyler up. He heard a pop and then fell to the floor holding his knee. The athletic trainer thought he had torn his ACL. His knee was swollen and sore, so he iced it and used crutches until we were able to get him in to the doctor for an MRI. Monday, Nov. 12th We were able to get him in to the doctor. They took an xray and then the doctor came in to look at it. From looking at the xray he said it looked like his knee cap popped out of place and broke a piece of bone off. He said that it looked like he tore a ligament as well, but needed an MRI to confirm everything.  Unfortunately, we had to schedule another appointment for an MRI and then wait a few days to know the results. Luckily, he was able to come in the next day for the MRI. ...
